Information about Jamaica is readily accessible and available in any medium one may wish to use, with some sources being more credible and authentic than others. Patrick Robinson in his foreword to In Praise of Jamaica aptly states that the paradox of Jamaica is that “it has an international profile that is totally disproportionate to its size.” It is this high-level profile that is captured to a large extent by this son of Jamaica.

False Advertising?

If verses 1-3 of Psalm 41 were to be taken at face value then Dorcas (Acts 9: 36) should still be alive today, and Mother Theresa should not have died. All the missionaries who perished in mission lands (whether through illness or the violent revolt of elements who objected to their work) should not have suffered and died as many have. The Apostles who were brutally martyred should have all at least died of natural causes - if not alive to this day. But this is not the reality we know. Is this a case of false advertising; what does the Psalmist mean?

We spent the night in a secluded cove, between the Greek island of Samos and mainland Turkey. The channel at this spot is only about one mile wide. We know that the apostle Paul sailed through this channel on his way from the island of Chios to Miletus (see Acts 20:15). We literally spent the night within a few yards of where his modest ship must have sailed.

The University adopts the philosophy that "True education means more than the pursual of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come." NCU, through the Division of Student Services and Records, provides healthy social activities for members of the University family on a regular basis.

With one weekend of intense evangelistic thrust and the opportunity to be baptized, Gibson, a Medical Technology student at Northern Caribbean University (NCU), was willing to die in the watery death of baptism and be raised to live a new life in Christ.
