The annual Leadership Roundtable Conference at Northern Caribbean University (NCU) continued on Thursday, July 10 at the university’s Gymnatorium. The second day featured various presentations including Technical Writing by Chair of NCU’s Department of Communication Studies Rhoma Tomlinson and Intention to Pursue Post-Secondary Education and Related Factors Among Jamaica Senior High School Students by Professor in the Department of Graduate Education and Leadership Dr. Teran Milford. President of NCU Dr. Trevor Gardner was the keynote speaker at Servant Leadership Luncheon.

NCU Producing Healthy Minds and Bodies
Research has shown that keeping physically fit will help to keep the brain and body in good shape throughout life. It builds stronger physique, helps to lower the risk of many diseases and also helps to build the muscles of the mind. Regular exercise will not only give the participant an increased level of endorphins, but will undoubtedly lessen age-related mental decline.

NCU Student, first to get help from NJC Save-A-Youth Foundation
The North Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventist earlier this week launched the Save-A-Youth Foundation, a non-profit venture aimed at utilising charitable funds to help youth in their social, physical, and psychological health.

NCU Aids in Providing Solutions to Solve Jamaica's Math Problem
Bailey shared that "the formation of the NCU Mathematics Institute is an excellent example of the University's effort to improve the level of performance in mathematics. The primary objective of this institute is to assist mathematics teachers to improve their performance for this will have a positive impact on the students". To this end, NCU Math Institute will be hosting a Math Workshop for teachers July 15-17, with emphasis on helping teachers to use modern technology and techniques to teach their children.

President of the Court of Appeal in Jamaica, The Honourable Mr. Justice Seymour Panton says Jamaicans need to get rid of the notion that leaders from overseas are better equipped to lead than their Jamaican counterparts. He was speaking to doctoral students, faculty and staff at Northern Caribbean University’s (NCU) Leadership Roundtable Conference on Wednesday, July 9.

Five NCU Alumni Ordained Ministers in WJC
Five alumni from the School of Religion and Theology at Northern Caribbean University (NCU) were ordained as ministers on July 12, 2014 at the Noel Frazer Auditorium in St. James. Keane Adams, Jermaine Bailey, Jason Edwards, Everette Taylor, and Floyd Whyte were presented with their instruments at the ordination service by Pastor Glen Samuels, Director of the Ministerial, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries department of the Jamaica Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventist.

NCU- Strategically Placed in an Ideal Environment for Tertiary Studies
The founding fathers of Northern Caribbean University (NCU) must have patted themselves on the shoulders when they allowed the institution to be relocated to the cool hills of Mandeville in the early 1900s. Even though the town has been significantly developed since that era, it remains a haven for those who appreciate country charm blended with urban flair. The environment is just another reason NCU is the ideal institution to pursue tertiary studies.
