Northern Caribbean University (NCU) Office of Chaplaincy Services hosted its first Chaplaincy Seminar on Friday October 3 2014 at the Solomon Harriot Lecture Theatre, as a part of its Fall 2014 Seminar series. Director of Chaplaincy Services at NCU, Mrs Marilyn Campbell-Flinch, highlighted that the marquee event seeks to train individuals to be better Chaplain Aides with special focus on Spirituality, Leadership, Temperaments, Emotions and demands of chaplaincy.

NCU's Class of 2018 Urged Not to Be Different
Northern Caribbean University (NCU) joyfully welcomed the Class of 2018 in a special annual consecration service at the NCU’s Main Auditorium. University President, Dr Trevor Gardner delivered the main address under the theme, “Kosher Pigs”. Dr. Gardner urged the congregation, with many positive thinking new students, to be steadfast in their quest for not just a tertiary education, but for the highest quality education that is needed today. “This is the education that is packaged and presented at Northern Caribbean University where learning never ends.”

NCU Homecoming Banquet 2014 Set to Be a Blast
Northern Caribbean University’s (NCU) Alumni Fundraising Banquet 2014 is fast approaching. Once again NCU is, with open arms, welcoming its alumni back to their alma mater. The annual Homecoming Banquet 2014 will be held on Sunday October 12, 2014, Cocktail at 6:30 pm at the NCU Gymnatorium. The Office of Alumni Relations is inviting all to attend as this event is in aid of the NCU Endowment Fund.

NCU Netball Team Chalk Up First Win of Season
Northern Caribbean University’s (NCU) Netball team chalked up its first victory in the inter-collegiate netball competition, as they beat Knox Community College (KCC) 25-24 in a nail biting encounter at the KCC’s courts in Spalding on Thursday October 9, 2014. The NCU ladies facing parish rivals in the first game of the ‘Manchester derby,’ fought from the opening whistle to the very end to come from behind to beat their tertiary neighbours. This victory has NCU precariously poised at the top of the table with its first win from the opening encounter.

NCU Female Football Team Wins First Match of Inter-Col Debutant Season
Debutant Northern Caribbean University (NCU) female football team edged a seasoned campaigner’s Shortwood Teachers’ College (STC) one nil in the Inter-Collegiate female football competition at the Victor Dixon High playfield in Mandeville. NCU, the debutant team for the 2014 season, entered its first home game of the season looking more excited and purposeful than their more seasoned opponents.

Jamaica’s Honorary Consul to Los Angeles, Lorna Johnson, Contributes to HuBSS Scholarship
It was an inauguration service like no other on the campus of Northern Caribbean University (NCU) recently as the Academic Club of the College of Humanities, Behavioural and Social Sciences (HuBBs) officially inducted its elected executive members into the hallS of service. The HuBBS executive and their sponsors, Mr. Jason Wynter and Mrs. Carolyn Blair were pinned by Dr. Vincent Peterkin, Dean of the College and Professor Orlean Brown Earle, Chair of the Behavioural Sciences Department.

On October 11, the NCU community will fellowship in the beauty of holiness at the NCU Gymnatorium in Mandeville. The dais belongs to Pastor Paul A Scavella, Ministerial Secretary and President for the South Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
