NCU Eastern Campus Honours More Than 70 Scholars

Northern Caribbean University’s (NCU) Eastern Regional Campus recently honoured more than seventy students at its annual Honours’ Convocation held at the Andrews Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church in Kingston. Fifty-five (55) students made the list at the honour roll level with a grade point average (GPA) between 3.0 and 3.49, fifteen (15) at Cum Laude with a 3.50 to 3.69 and nine (9) making the institution’s second highest tier – Magna Cum Laude (3.70-3.89). Dean of the College of Business and Hospitality Management, Dr Earl Green was on hand to share with the awardees and those in attendance at the august event.

Since 2003 the Community Counselling & Restorative Justice Centre (CCRJC) of Northern Caribbean University (NCU) has been enriching the lives of many in the parish of Manchester. The CCRJC is meeting some of its objectives through the Parent Empowerment Training Programme which offers parents and guardians an opportunity to hone their parenting skills and enhance their relationships with their children. The latest initiative was completed for Kendal and Albion communities on December 9, 2014 at the Kendal Camp and Conference Centre. Our camera was on location to capture the sixty-one parents who were honoured at a Closing Ceremony hosted by the CCRJC.

I recall the days of eating freshly baked bread and/or buns that came from the bakery that the college operated. I recall my eldest brother and sibling often coming home with such goodies.
