Northern Caribbean University’s (NCU) Gymnatorium in Mandeville was on Saturday February 7, 2015 the stage for the largest showing for the Family Life Directors of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. Dr Willie and Elaine Oliver were the main presenters of the stellar event that saw approximately 2,000 couples attended and renewed marital vows with their spouses during a Couples Convention at the NCU Gymnatorium in Mandeville, Jamaica.

So James, the brother of John, is killed. Peter is next in line. He's captured, and kept in a maximum security facility. Their crime? Preaching Jesus - much to the chagrin of the Jewish leaders who hated Jesus. Peter is kept in store for an opportuned time to be made a spectacle for the barbaric delight of the Jews, while affording Herod some measly scored political points with the Jews.

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). God will always reward us for our actions (whether good or bad). Isaiah 1:19 illustrates the incentives of being obedient to God’s word. Can you imagine eating “the good” of the land? No more harsh chemicals or preservatives, only the natural ingredients of the earth.

Two Things I Covet
From the reading of Acts 13 there seemed to have been a virtually audible voice of the Holy Spirit in the first century Church: "the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them,'” (Acts 13: 2). Today I seem only to hear men in meetings making plans and projections to push the growth of the Church.

Home of the Noble Knights
During the middle ages, the title of knighthood was bestowed upon an individual (knight) by a monarch or Member of Parliament. It was not a title that was desired after as it was considered a “title of lower class nobility”. However, by the end of the middle ages, the title became associated with “perfect Christian warrior and chivalry”. A knight was described as a vassal who served as a fighter for the Lord. Likewise, in our society, we have men who are willing to stand up for Christ. They are our modern day Noble Knights.
