Photographic Highlights of NCU Team in NEJ Conference

The Port Maria Seventh-day Adventist Church was recently impacted by a team from Northern Caribbean University (NCU) led by president Dr. Trevor Gardner and his wife, and Alumni Relations Director Mrs. Susan Long-Gordon. The team shared in the worship experience in the North East Jamaica (NEJ) conference for the entire day’s service much to the delight of members of the Port Maria congregation. Members and alumni were able to have their questions satisfactorily answered about the plans for the largest English speaking SDA tertiary institution in the world. Administrators from the NEJ participated in the day’s activities while hosting the team from Manchester.

Graduation 2012! What a bang it was! Forty nine graduates began Changing Today To Inspire Tomorrow. The Victor Dixon High School hosted its annual graduation ceremony under the theme “Changing Today To Inspire Tomorrow.” The two day exercise commenced on Sabbath June 30th, 2012 with its consecration service at the Northern Caribbean University Gymnatorium and ended on Sunday July 31st, 2012. Sabbath School was ably conducted by the junior class who reminded us of the importance of studying the best text book of all-the Bible.

NCU Supports Agriculture Mandate

In the words of Agricultural Minister Roger Clarke: “Eat, what we grow and grow what we eat;” Northern Caribbean University (NCU) has been doing just that. The Office of Special Projects provides the University and the High school family as well as surrounding communities with freshly grown produce. Special Projects is a major farming initiative that has been launched to revive commercial agriculture on the NCU properties. These efforts, clearly not confined to NCU, have been extended to the wider community in Central Jamaica, through funding secured from the Government of Japan for The Project for Sustainable Food Production on Mined-Out Bauxite Lands.

I don't know how common it is on a global scale; but this notice conjures vivid pictures of rangers with shotguns waiting to apprehend trespassers. You might even get shot at; if not shot. That is so much like the Devil who sets us up, and then is quick to expose us so we get punished - he's the arch accuser of the brethren!
