Adventist Volunteers Replace Storm-ravaged School in Curaçao

Six months from the initial request by the Inter-American Division of Seventh-day Adventists, Maranatha Volunteers International completed a One-Day School campus for the Mahuma Sur Primary Adventist School in Curaçao. School began at this new location in January with 225 students enrolled.

NCU Kingston Campus Honours Outstanding Students

The Northern Caribbean University (NCU) Kingston Campus recently honoured more than 50 outstanding students for their academic performance at the institutions annual Honours Convocation. The Ceremony was held at the Andrews Memorial Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church in Kingston. The administrators lauded students who maintained an above average academic standing for the year 2011-2012 with certificates and plaques of commendations at the stellar event. A dedication service for the United Student Movement (USM) officers for the Kingston campus was also a main feature.

Propelled by a spiritual revival initiative set in motion two years ago throughout the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Inter-American Division (IAD), top church leaders launched the start of the territory-wide Year of the Laity this weekend. The event, held at the IAD’s headquarter office in Miami, Florida, gathered church leaders from throughout Inter-America’s 22 church regions and included a communion service and challenge to continue in a lifestyle of daily prayer, study of the Bible and sharing the gospel everywhere. Organizers called the event its first “Holy Convocation”.

I don’t adapt readily to change. My car is an example of that. I’ve been driving my black Honda Prelude for more than two decades now—and it’s still going strong. Bought new in 1991, it has moved with my family and me from North Carolina to Maryland to Michigan to Idaho and back to Maryland.

Born 12 December, 1922, in East End, Grand Cayman, Percival Wilbert (Will) Jackson was the son of Lydia Welcome-Jackson and Herbert Jackson. When Lydia passed away, Will was only 4 years old, at which time his dear old aunt Florrie Bodden and Simpson Jackson took him in their care, raising him as he was their own son, teaching him all the Christian principles that he lived by all of his life.
