NCU Joins Forces For UDOP's 20th Conference

Northern Caribbean University (NCU) has joined forces with the two other major Universities in Jamaica for the 20th staging of the Annual International Diabetes conference at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort in St. Ann on March 27-29, 2014. At the recently held press launch at the Eden Gardens Wellness Resort and Spa, the organizers shared with the public the theme for this year’s staging: ‘Diabetes and Sport’. The conference will be officially opened by the Minister with responsibility for Sport in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Hon. Natalie Neita-Headley.

The team comprising Kevin Kennedy, Peter Lyn, Thomas Whittaker, and Christopher Smikle, copped this year’s competition with their entry Proximity – the Ultimate School Locater. The team developed the software/app under the mentorship and guidance of Mr. Damion Mitchell who is the lecturer in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) at NCU.

The team comprising Kevin Kennedy, Peter Lyn, Thomas Whittaker, and Christopher Smikle, won this year's competition with their entry: Proximity - the Ultimate School Locater.
