Theme of Family Focus for Monday, March 16, 2015 was in tandem with the Day of Prayer: Prayer of Protection. The office of Counseling and Psychology Services Centre shared the A.C.T.S. method of praying with the university family while the workforce converged on Jamaica Hall for the start of the Day of Prayer.

The Jamaican Diaspora will benefit from more trained chaplains who will provide support at accident and death scenes, homicides and other serious crimes, as a result of a new addition to the degree programme offering at Northern Caribbean University (NCU). This information was made public at the recently held KG Vaz Lecture on the NCU’s Mandeville campus at the University’s Main Auditorium. Sharing in this revelation was head of the Chaplaincy Services Unit within the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Bishop Dr. Gary Welsh, and University administrators.

The weekly chapel session for Monday, March 16, 2015, was like no other. March 16 was selected by the university, Inter-American Division and Jamaica Union of Seventh-day Adventists (JAMU) as the Day of Prayer. Dr. Sandra Gayle, Education Director from JAMU outlined the three objectives of the Day of Prayer. “It serves to highlight the importance of prayer, Bible study and witnessing, to bring together students, teachers, parents and the surrounding community to the institution in an experience of prayer and Bible study, and to give the students the message that there is joy in communion with God.”

Mrs Simes-Graham received the award from the Northern Caribbean University (NCU) College of Humanities Behavioural and Social Sciences on Tuesday March 17, 2015 on the NCU main campus in Mandeville, where she was a guest presenter at the University’s annual World Social Work day celebration.

Creativity from creation was the hallmark for Northern Caribbean University’s (NCU) Family Focus devotional exercise on Monday March 23, 2015 on the Mandeville campus. The College of Business and Hospitality Management (CBHM) were the team members responsibly for sharing with the University workforce in the Monday morning devotional exercise. Lecturer in the department of Hospitality Management, Glenroy Henry shared the inspirational thought with the workforce on the value and power of God’s creativity.
