The Drive, which has taken on the mantra of the ‘Back to School Buss’, was recently at the Make a Joyful Noise Concert at the Noel Frazer Auditorium in Montego Bay. Northern Caribbean University’s Gymnatorium came alive on August 27, 2012, as the Student Services and Records, along with the Spiritual Affairs Department hosted the first chapel session to mark the beginning of the fall semester 2012. Angelic heralds from the praise team warmed the hearts of faculty, staff, as well as new and returning students. Pastor Michael Harvey, the main speaker for the chapel session, encouraged the audience to learn to successfully navigate their lives to their desired destiny. He outlined the seven C’s to successful living.

Northern Caribbean University welcomed more than one thousand into their institution during their Fall 2012 New Students Orientation and registration. Under the theme “Transformed for Service, Destined for Glory,” the two-day orientation program serves to prepare students to be academically successful by: providing information and resources that will allow students to make informed and appropriate academic plans and healthy social choices. Branded as the class of 2016, the New Students became conversant with the University Mandeville campus. The orientation session also provides a welcoming environment that builds a sense of community which will connect them to faculty, staff and other students and providing a framework for the four years of success through the communication of expectations, norms and standards. I don’t know about you, but it appears to me that that this summer holiday went by quicker than any other. As I tried to keep up with my hectic summer schedule, I realized that the days were going by much faster than I anticipated.Indeed, we were warned somewhere before that ‘time waits on no man’and the ‘final days will be rapid ones’. So then,take note that the summer is over, graduation has passed, Olympics 2012 has passed, the 1-2-3 euphoria is slowly wearing off and each day will roll into the other, waiting on no man.
