Northern Caribbean University (NCU) continues to celebrate Jamaica’s Jubilee with the staging of a concert, “Songs of an Isle” –Musical Works by Jamaican Composers on Sunday, November 18, 2012. The concert, organized by the Department of Music, will be held at the Main Auditorium on the university’s Main Campus in Mandeville.

A new Seventh-day Adventist world church initiative titled “Revived by His Word,” coordinated by the Revival and Reformation Committee, is aimed at strengthening the spiritual experience of each church member.

The fifth round of the Inter-Collegiate division 1 football competition reaped much success for Northern Caribbean University (NCU) on Thursday November 15, 2012. Playing in their second home fixture at the NCU oval, ‘The Office’, NCU schooled the visiting Bethlehem Moravian College (BMC) team in the fundamentals of the beautiful game on their way to a one nil victory. This win gave NCU its second of the season and an additional three points which placed them precariously on eight points out of a possible fifteen, in the nine team top tier of tertiary football in Jamaica. The match lived up to its expectations as both teams were eagerly hunting valuable points at this stage of the competition to finish in the top two and ultimately a place in the finals.

Northern Caribbean University’s (NCU) netballers exacted revenge on the Sam Sharpe Teachers’ College as they outscored their opponents 28-21 in a fast paced game at the NCU Gymnatorium on Thursday November 15. The Jessica Myers led girls were mentally and physically prepared for their opponents who had beaten them in their initial match to earn maximum points as they hunted for a place in the semi-finals playoff. In a game of quarters, NCU dominated all four, leading their opponents for the entire game as they were adamant not to take their feet off the throttle until the final whistle was blown.

The event themed, ‘A Biblical and Clinical Response to the Social Ills of Jamaica’ was held at the university’s Main Campus in Mandeville. Pastors from the Seventh-day Adventist church as well as from other denominations convened to discuss the theme with main presenters that represented the clergy as well as the social sciences.

Living Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church first outdoor Sabbath was truly “inspiring, refreshing, and reviving,” according to many who attended. Under the theme, “Communing and Fellowshipping with God through Nature,” the Living Faith Church spent the entire Sabbath day at the Bahamas Youth Camp, Gladstone Road, Nassau, on Sabbath, November 10, 2012. It was a ‘dress-down’ Sabbath when members left the four walls of the traditional church setting, and clad in casual attire, spent time in nature closer to God and to each other.
