There is a certain unrivalled feeling of goodwill, wellbeing, and nostalgia that often attends the journey back home. Home, where precious memories are formed, and life changing decisions are made. It’s about the worship, the feasting together, the pranks played on each other, and the laughter that followed. We remember the sad moments shared too when our tears were joined in grief for our painful losses and failures. And yet, here we are… by the Grace of God we’ve made it thus far. Homecoming is always a special time.

I must confess also that there are few things that are more heart-warming than to elicit a smile from a baby. It just feels good to be a source of comfort and joy for a baby... for anybody for that matter.

From reading a novel, Journey to the East by Herman Hesse, Robert Greenleaf coined the terminology servant-leader. To him, the servant-leader is one who wants to serve first. His/Her waking moments are spent conceptualizing ways to serve and then further put these ways into practice; sleeping moments are spent dreaming about serving. The natural and the conscious realms are intertwining as the servant-leader leads in service.
