Purpose is a matter of the heart. At the chronological stage of teenage youth, and the psychosocial place of geographic and familial dislocation, Daniel’s heart had purpose. Dragged in forced marches across the Arabian desert in Babylon’s chain gangs of war-violated Judeans, his soul and body aching from exposure, starvation, brokenheartedness, and the loss of homeland, Daniel’s heart still spoke with clarity. The choice of a university where one does post-secondary preparation for work is a very far reaching one. Not only will a degree follow you through life, but it will take you places you wouldn’t otherwise reach as well. And one of the things that helps determine where a degree is likely to take you is accreditation; external, independent ratification of the quality of a university’s programmes.
